ABSTRACT The voice is very popular in English. Transformation of active-passive sentences always appears in the exams, espcially the exams on English competence under the Common European Framework for Reference. The further students learn the voice, the more difficult they find it. To help address this situation, we have collected sample activepassive sentences and explain them in the works of Noam Chomsky (generative grammar, trace theory, move theory, projection rules, government and binding theory, bound theory)
