Abstract Difficulties in learning activities directly affect the academic outcomes of first-year students. This paper analyzes difficulties in learning activities encountered by the first-year students of the Faculty of Preschool Education in Saigon University, pointing out the causes and proposing some solutions to those difficulties to improve the learning quality of the first-year students.
