Abstract The paper presents the overview of the primary teacher staff in Ho Chi Minh City in terms of ages, academic background, career years of experience. Meanwhile, it also clarifies the teachers’ cognition on the importance of the teachers’ ualities, professional competences the current situation of academic competences, teaching methods and s ills of the primar staff the factors affecting the teachers’ working motivation and the requirements given ordered for the development of the primary teacher staff in Ho Chi Minh City aiming to meet the Vietnam education innovation.
